Beaufort Completes Liverpool Hotel & Residential Project

Beaufort is pleased to announce the completion of a mezzanine investment into a hotel and residential development project in the heart of Liverpool, The Gostins Building. The development will transform one of the city’s many iconic buildings into a new branded hotel comprising 155 keys, with a substantial roof extension to accommodate several storeys of residential accommodation and commercial premises on the ground floor.

Originally a pharmaceutical factory, the seven-storey Gostins Building is a stone’s throw from the £1bn, 42-acre Liverpool One shopping, residential and leisure development and will deliver much-needed hotel accommodation as well as new for-sale residential units, all boasting impressive views over the Liverpool skyline.

The development is expected to be complete and open in the first half of 2020.

Spotlight on Healthcare

What was once a fairly niche asset class within the property industry has now become one of the largest growth areas for developers and investors alike. By 2021, the population of the UK over the age of 65 is estimated to be 13 million, with a shortfall of 150,000 market-standard healthcare bed spaces*.

In short, the demand for high-quality healthcare developments has never been higher and looks set to continue increasing.

The Beaufort team has considerable experience of providing development finance to the healthcare sector, from high-end retirement developments, to extra-care and supported living.
