Beaufort Completes Facility for Glasgow PBSA Development
Beaufort Capital is delighted to announce the completion of a facility to fund the development of a new PBSA development of 321 beds in Glasgow city centre.
This project will involve the demolition of a former city centre office building, and the delivery of a modern PBSA project, which will appeal to a wide range of students in the city.
This design-led scheme will also boast a café and co-working space on the ground floor, with bookable meeting / event spaces, student lounge, study room, gym and 685sqm (7,375sqft) of outside terrace space split across five floors. In total, there will be an impressive 5sqm of amenity space per bedspace.
The site is located less than ten minutes’ walk from the city centre of Glasgow, and is also within easy reach of the University of Glasgow, Strathclyde University and Glasgow Caledonian University, which have a combined student body of over 86,000.
Demolition is already underway on site, and the scheme is forecast to be open in time for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The client is a highly-experienced developer of both residential and commercial projects. Over the last 15 years, they have delivered multiple award-winning regeneration projects in both Scotland and England.
Joe Flaherty of Beaufort Capital said, “We are very pleased to have completed this facility for this excellent addition to the Glasgow PBSA market.
“Glasgow has one of the largest student populations in the UK, coupled with a structural undersupply of quality PBSA, and a lack of supply coming to market in recent years.
“This project will make an excellent addition to the city’s student offering, and a stand-out development in the client’s already-impressive portfolio of projects.”
Joe Flaherty – Director, Beaufort Capital
“We have been working with this highly-regarded developer for more than seven years, and we look forward to seeing this landmark site taking shape over the coming months.”
