Beaufort finances £70m residential scheme in Chelmsford

Beaufort is delighted to announce the completion of a residential development facility for a £70m scheme being undertaken by prominent local developer, Marden Homes.

The project, near Chelmsford, will be the final phase of the Channels masterplan, and will deliver 128 family houses and apartments on land which previously formed part of Channels Lake Golf Club. A number of the units will benefit from lakeside frontage and private jetties.

The Channels development is located on the north-eastern fridges of the city of Chelmsford, a 35-minute journey by train to London Liverpool Street. Chelmsford benefits from good-quality leisure and retail including the new Bond Street development where John Lewis is the anchor tenant.

Steffan Goold, Director at Beaufort Capital, said, “I am delighted to be once again working with Marden Homes. I am a huge supporter of their product and pleased to have commenced what I hope to be a long-term partnership between Marden and Beaufort.

“The Marden team has enormous experience and I’m looking forward to us working together to deliver their largest project to date.”

Rick Tappenden, Managing Director at Marden, said, “Beaufort’s ability to understand the complexities around this project and make decisions quickly has been hugely impressive. The experience of the Beaufort team is clear to see.”

“We are very much looking forward to building a long term strategic partnership with Beaufort as we look to grow Marden Homes in the years ahead.”

Marden Homes is a long-established residential developer, based in Essex and founded in 1989. The firm is currently under construction on projects with a combined GDV in excess of £100m.
